Working with the community
Norfolk's Cycle Response Team will be cycling 40 miles to save lives on 23rd August in the Tour de Broads.
Team Leader, Dominic Wade (middle pic, left), promises to cycle the whole route in full uniform on a fully stocked cycle response bike, as if getting through the 40 miles wasn't enough.
All funds raised will go towards supporting Norfolk's Cycle Response Team, which will be the difference between life and death for emergencies in city centres and crowded places where a quick response is essential.
For the Tour de Broads this year we will be donating to the Love The Broads charity.
The Broads is Britain's magical waterland, a fragile wetland of international importance.
Love the Broads is a scheme that provides an easy way for you to donate a small amount of money to a range of projects that are vital for the conservation of the Broads and which will also benefit our local communities.
The Broads Trust, which operates the fund-raising scheme, awarded grants in 2014 of over £8,000 to 5 projects aimed at keeping the Broads special. The money, to support wildlife, environmental and education projects on the Broads, has been raised from donations from visitors, Broads tourism businesses, the Eastern Daily Press and others. We are very grateful for everyone's support.
