· Welcome to Revolution Events, brought to you by ActivatingCiC - a Community Interest Company dedicated to helping cycling in Norfolk & Suffolk ·
Wow, what an event. Over 2200 riders graced beautiful Broadland on two wheels and revelled in the glorious sunshine, quiet roads and our amazing natural landscape. The Tour de Broads 2015 is believed to be the biggest cycling event the Norfolk Broads has ever seen and the biggest "Home Grown" cycling event in our region - only the long running Norwich 100 run by a commercial West Country events business tops this number!
Cycling is great for our natural environment, it is great for our health and with over 25% of riders coming from outside the region it is great for our local economy as well. It is also great for our Good Causes and Charities. We believe that over £50,000 was raised for Macmillan and countless other national charities plus a huge boost for the Great Yarmouth Bike Project, Love the Broads and other local cycling projects including a new disability cycling facility which will open soon. Thank you so much - this is why we organise the event.
We polled a large cross section of you on the day and over 40% of you were riding your first cycle challenge event..... and loved it! To help you continue to love your cycling, Pedal Revolution will offer all Tour de Broads riders 10% discount on all 2015 and 2016 bikes, accessories and parts during August and September - just present your rider number in the Norwich, Cromer or Gorleston stores.
Thank you to everyone who rode, volunteered and contributed to making the 3rd Tour de Broads the best yet. With over 500 riders not specifying a tee-shirt size we did run out of the correct sized tee shirts for some of the later finishes and we are sorry to have disappointed you - we wanted to offer every rider a souvenir of the ride as part of your entry fee and tee-shirts seemed a great idea. We will be announcing the 2016 event very soon and giving 2015 riders the first chance to book at a reduced rate to secure your place.
